Case Study

Indian Statistical Institute is a premier Statistical institute of the country. The New Delhi chapter of the institute caters to Statistical Planning, Statistical Quality Control and Operations Research, Theoretical Mathematics and statistics.

What the client wanted:
The client wanted us to provide consultancy on Network management and data-network security. They wanted us to redesign their networkframework such that:

  • The network is secure
  • The valuable and voluminous data on the network and on various servers is secure.
  • Network access and user rights policy to be designed.
  • Ways and methods to be suggested to enable remote access to data to staff/faculty members with appropriate rights.
  • Mailing policy and mail server management policy to be designed.

What we offered:
We offered to the client a team of two resident network-system engineers fulltime to be placed onsite for the duration of the contract. An Enterprise Administrator headed these engineers.
These resident engineers spent a month’s time understanding the client’s requirement, its way of working and their expectations.

Based on this study at the end of the month we delivered to the client:

  • A comprehensive security policy custom designed to their organization
  • A network and computer lab management policy.
  • A predictive and preventive maintenance policy for their entire IT section.

We also successfully implemented the aforementioned policies and managed the IT infrastructure for a period of 6 months.
