The Client: Diva Restaurant

What the Client Wanted
Theclient wanted a Point of Sale system for theirSpecialty Restaurant “Diva Café”. Dueto its proximity to a Movie Theater and ShoppingMall being located in 3C’s Multiplex the Pointof Sale System was supposed to handle high volumesof traffic. It was extremely necessary for thesystem to be user friendly, to facilitate fastercustomer service. The client wanted the solutionto be flexible enough to be replicated for restofthe restaurants in their chain, in future. Thisflexibility demanded the application to be extremelydynamic. The client also wanted that besidesthe regular reports a provision should be madeto have a glance at the sales and item/quantityfigures at any point of time while the counteris live and without disturbing the customerservicing.

What we offered
Keeping in mind the requirements and the issues raised by the client we delivered a client-server base VB-Access application, with the following features:

Administration Tool:
Independent, easy to use application configuration tool with the following features:

  • Add user/operator
  • Add Restaurant sections
  • Add Items/dishes
  • Add Ingredients of the dishes added
  • Add Sub-Items and link them to the main items
  • Specify tax for individual dishes
  • Specify different tax schemes for food and beverages.

Security:

  • Password protected application.
  • Access logs with username and date/time.
  • Separate password for Reports and Bill Modification section.

Tax Calculation:

  • Separate tax calculation for food and beverages
  • Provision to specify tax on each item
